Step 14 - Press T and type /nickname [charname]

Step 14 - add your charactername

This feature is currently not working.

Before you leave, you should be able to set a nickname inGame by using the /nickname [name] command. Please choose a “human” name without numbers, jokes or edgyness. “Peter” might be boring but is good. “Shadowlord of Chaos42069” might be randomly renamed by the admins to some other medievally name like “Gundelbert”. 😉

Step 15 - Press T and type /starterkit

Step 15 - redeem your starterkit

This will give you 15 StarterCoins and a temporal Gear to set your spawn when you found a nice place to settle. It will NOT be refunded if lost or used early!

Step 16 - Read the Signs! DO IT!

Step 17 - Buy your gear from the StarterShop! USE ALL YOUR COINS!

Step 17 - buy your equipment from the starter shop

StarterCoins do not have any worth after the first visit to the StarterShop.

When this is done, you will find yourself in our StarterShop. A little bunker, deep below the surface.
Here you can use a few StarterCoins to purchase a tool and some food or a bag – or something else from our variety of startermerch.

Step 18 - READ THE SIGNS! ARGH! MORE SIGNS!

Step 19 - Press P an configure RP VoiceChat.

Step 19 - RP VoiceChat Settings

Step 20 - Step on the teleporter!

It will lead you to the spawn area. Look around (maybe to the [east]?) to find our first civilization.

Step 20 - Step on the teleporter
Enjoy your stay!
And remember: Be excellent to each other!

Additional useful stuff:

You can access your skills with “O” – but you will most likely not start with any. If you have played on our (tiny, inofficial) 1.18.15 Server, you can ask for a Glider. If you lose it, it will not be replaced, though! You can claim land with the vanilla /land command – and you should when you start building. If you build near a town or kingdom, you should talk to the people/leader – or you might face consequences you won’t like. PVP is enabled after all – and our Staff will watch over raids and act accordingly (if you get raided and wiped, you might lose your claim! – if there is a valid Casus Belli!).

“Roleplaying” in Vintaria:

Basically:
  • Choose a job.
  • Do your job.
  • Be useful to your community.
  • Don't talk outGame-Stuff in the Game. Use discord for that!

As said above, we don’t require “Hardcore Roleplay” here. There is no need to speak inCharacter or emote stuff like it’s Ultima Online.
No, the Roleplay-Part is about being part of the community, having a proper Charactername, doing your classes job, leveling up and growing stronger.

Possibly without spamming or shittalking in global. “RPK” (Random Player Killing) will also have administrational consequences (bans!) as well as grieving.
We will most likely permit Theft and Ambushes later but for now, please try to remain peaceful and keep your fingers to yourself!

If you show adult behaviour and accept the limits of your character, you’ll be fine.

In case you want to raid somebody, fight any wars or show hostile behaviour in general, that’s generally alright – but please contact our Staff/Admins before hand.
Please respect when we say “No, please do not!”. Usually we specify a reason. If you’re not satisfied with the treatment or reply of one Staff, you can ask for a second opinion – as long as the discussion stays civil.

Corpses SHOULD not lootable for a specific time, so your gear isn’t lost when you die or get spawn camped for a night.
If you’re unhappy with the kingdom – or have other valid reasons, you can leave and form or join another group/kingdom. Please make sure to live a distance away – for your own as well as everybody elses sake.

Languages

We, the Staff, don’t particularily care what language you speak with your group. But keep the global and public channels in english. We won’t fault you for creating a german village for your group, for example. It might lead to interesting RP situations.

Founding Civilizations

In the beginning, there will be one starter Kingdom with one Starter Civilization. If you and your group create their own village, please decide on one “Village Chief” for external politics. You can join an existing kingdom (if they want you) or form your own. This might require a yet-to-be-specified tech level or amount of citizens. With that, you get your own channels and a group in the Vintaria discord server. If your Village Chief is unavailable for longer than a few weeks, please appoint a replacement. If your whole Village goes unavailable – we don’t know yet. It might get raided or swarmed by locusts.
